When a commercial renewable energy project goes wrong — when the EPC contractor runs over programme, when the grid connection takes twice as long as it should, when commissioning reveals a system that underperforms its design — it is almost always because no one was managing the process on behalf of the asset owner.
Arc Renewables is the owner’s representative. We manage the delivery of your renewable energy project on your behalf — procuring the right EPC contractor, governing the construction process, managing the DNO relationship, and ensuring your project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the specification you agreed. Our Renewable Energy Project Delivery Process
1. EPC Procurement
Arc structures and manages the tender process for EPC contractors. We draft the tender pack, evaluate submissions on technical merit and commercial terms, conduct due diligence on contractor capability, and advise on contract structure. Arc has no preferred contractor and earns no margin from the appointment — which means the contractor you end up with is the right one for your project.
2. Design Assurance
Independent review of the EPC contractor’s proposed design, specifications, and technical assumptions. Arc identifies errors, challenges under-specified elements, and ensures the design delivers the yield and performance outcomes the feasibility projected.
3. Programme Management
Arc sets the programme baseline, tracks progress against milestones, manages the interface between the EPC contractor and the DNO, and escalates issues before they become delays. Commercial renewable energy projects fail at the DNO interface more often than anywhere else — Arc manages this risk directly.
4. G99/G100 and DNO Management
Arc manages the grid connection application, coordinates with the Distribution Network Operator, and progresses the G99 or G100 approval through to commissioning. This is one of the highest-risk and least-understood elements of commercial solar delivery — and the area where independent oversight adds the most measurable value.
5. Quality Assurance and Commissioning
Arc manages the site inspection and quality assurance programme during construction, coordinates commissioning, reviews performance verification data, and manages the documentation and certification package at handover.
6. Reporting
Structured fortnightly or monthly reporting to the asset owner covering programme, cost, risk, and quality. Written in the language of property investment, not EPC contracting.
